Montana News Magazine.

Design Challenge: To redesign an existing alumni magazine that a university/college publishes. For this project, I felt Montana Tech’s MNews Alumni Magazine was in need of an update. Shown here is the redesign of the magazine’s feature article spreads, a title page spread for a secondary article, and a class notes section.

Design Approach: Keeping the school’s colors in mind, I stuck with a forest green and warm yellow color palette paired with bold typography. I experimented with type design to catch the viewer’s attention and to show off the importance of the feature article.

For the class notes, muted pastel colors and straight columns with bold subheads make it easy for the reader to read mass text.
